Nuggets Lose Two More Players in Free Agency

After the expected departure of Bruce Brown, the Denver Nuggets have lost two more players in free agency. It was announced on Saturday that Thomas Bryant had agreed to a deal with the Miami Heat, and Jeff Green had agreed to a deal with the Houston Rockets.

While Bryant was not a major contributor for the Nuggets in last year's championship run, Green appeared in 20 playoff games, averaging over 17 minutes per contest. Green's offense was not needed with the level of scoring talent Denver had, but his ability to connect certain offensive groups while also using his athleticism on defense was impactful.

For Bryant, his deal with the Heat is reportedly for two years and $5.4M total. For Green, his agreement with the Rockets is just for one season at $6M total. The defending champion Nuggets still feel great about the group they have, and can certainly still make more moves, but they have now lost three players in free agency with Brown, Bryant, and Green all departing.

As previously mentioned, the departure of Bruce Brown was anticipated. While Denver wanted him back, they were limited in what they could offer. The departures of Bryant and Green were different, because the market for both players was hard to predict. While Denver has lost some of their depth, they should still be in a great spot.
