Nuggets Sign NCAA Dunk Champ Gabe McGlothan, Jaylin Williams

McGlothan is 6-foot-7 and appeared in 34 games with Grand Canyon last season, averaging 12.8 points and 7.3 rebounds, shooting 47% from the field, including 40% on 3-pointers. He won the NCAA Slam Dunk Championship and helped the Antelopes win a game in the NCAA tournament.

Meanwhile, Williams shares a name with the Oklahoma City Thunder forward. This Jaylin Williams is 6-8 and comes out of Auburn, where he averaged 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 34 games.

An Exhibit 10 training camp contract is a non-guaranteed minimum salary deal. It doesn’t count toward a team’s cap unless the player makes the final roster. It also can be converted to a two-way deal before the season or mean guaranteed money if a player is waived and then stays on the G League club for at least 60 days.

The Nuggets, who won the NBA championship two years ago, are coming off a second-round exit in the Western Conference playoffs, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves in seven games. They recently signed Russell Westbrook and continue to look for all the bench help they can get.

Previous reports say that Denver has signed ex-Clemson forward PJ Hall and former Creighton guard Trey Alexander to two-way contracts. Those on camp deals will likely be battling for a third two-way slot.
