Veteran guard Lonnie Walker IV has been waived by the Nuggets, according to the official transaction log at NBA.com.

Walker had been on a non-guaranteed training camp deal with Denver, which means the team won’t carry any dead money on its books by releasing him. He didn’t play much in his two preseason appearances, averaging 2.0 points in 8.6 minutes per game.

It’s possible Walker could be headed back overseas after spending most of the past two seasons in the EuroLeague. Agent Misko Raznatovic, who represents a long list of international players, announced (via Twitter) a few hours before the news that Walker had signed with his agency, BeoBasket.

Walker, 27, was the 18th overall pick in the 2018 draft. He spent his first four NBA seasons with San Antonio, the team that drafted him, then had one-year stints with the Lakers and Nets from 2022-24.

While Walker landed a training camp opportunity with Boston a couple years ago, he didn’t ended up making the Celtics’ final roster ahead of 2024/25. Instead, he played for Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania before signing a rest-of-season deal with Philadelphia in February 2025.

Walker, an athletic shooting guard, played for Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv last season. He officially signed his Exhibit 9 training camp deal with Denver in early September.

The Nuggets now have one opening on their preseason roster.
