OKC Could Draft Younger Brother's of Current Thunder Players in 2024 NBA Draft

We’re just under a year away from the 2024 NBA Draft. But it’s never too early to take a peek into the future of the league.

That’s especially true for the OKC Thunder, who have an already talented arsenal of players, a loaded pick cache and potentially familiar prospects to look into.

Both upcoming sophomore Jalen Williams and newly-inked two-way player Olivier Sarr will likely have younger brothers entering the upper ranks of the draft next season.

Jalen’s brother, Cody, is a 6-foot-8 forward set to take his talents to Colorado. He has a solid blend of handle, speed and fluidity, with good touch in the mid-range and a potentially believable outside game. He’s a cerebral, connective player and should make a high impact on the defensive end of the court, too, similarly to Jalen.

Olivier’s brother, Alexandre, hovers somewhere around 7-foot, and is a highly coordinated, elastic adjacent center whose going to have some interior scoring and rim-protection chops in the NBL next season. He can also handle the rock some and extend beyond the arc at a projectable enough rate.

Suffice to say, two forwards, both with wing-y style games packed into frames with some positional size, could be legitimately useful to an already supersized Thunder lineup.

And the team may very well be in position to grab one, or even both.

Williams has a wide draft range, with the middle falling somewhere in OKC’s projected outcome of around 15-ish. He could out-play that with the Buffs, but could easily slide some, too, with lackluster scoring numbers.

Sarr has the potential to go near-anywhere, even as high as the top-five and beyond. But the Houston Rockets top-four protected first round selection, Oklahoma City could still end up in that range, with potential to trade higher via a pick cache.

Oklahoma City is sure to do their due diligence on the wide variety of 2024 prospects. But Sarr and Williams could be two to watch out for as the season progresses.
