The game against the Minnesota Timberwolves was a crazy one, with the Oklahoma City Thunder squandering a 25-point lead and ultimately falling 131-128 in overtime.

Despite a strong performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 39 points, the Thunder were outscored 41-19 in the fourth quarter, allowing the Timberwolves to force overtime and eventually secure the win.

Following the tough loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently hold an impressive 46-11 record, made a roster decision.

Thunder make roster move after recent loss

The front office has decided to assign forward Dillon Jones to their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue.

Jones, a rookie and former first-round pick, has seen limited action with the Thunder this season, averaging just 9.0 minutes per game over 36 appearances.

Despite his limited playing time in the NBA, Jones has shown promise in the G League, where he has averaged 32.9 minutes per game across 17 outings.

The Thunder hope that by sending Jones to the Blue, he will continue to develop his skills and gain valuable experience on the court.

The loss highlighted some of the team's ongoing struggles, particularly in maintaining defensive intensity and closing out games, which was persistent in their past two showings.

By giving Jones more playing time in the G League, the Thunder aim to bolster their depth and improve their overall performance.

As the Thunder continue their season, they will be closely monitoring Jones's progress in the G League.

For now, the focus remains on development and ensuring that the team is in the best possible position to compete.

It is not uncommon for teams to make moves like this one as the playoffs approach. This will give him more playing time and keep him ready for when the team needs it without shattering his confidence.

In addition, this should not be taken as if the player had any misconduct or any particular issues with the team, and the move is not seen as a punishment.
