Jalen Williams will be $25,000 poorer following the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 125-93 victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
The 24-year-old swingman was notified of the fine after wearing a shirt that had profane language during a postgame press conference. Williams’ shirt had “F*** Art, Let’s Dance” written across the chest.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s victory on Sunday sealed their first trip to the Western Conference Finals since 2016, when they still had Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook going up against the dynastic Golden State Warriors.
This year, they will face Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who made it this far for the second consecutive season.
ESPN BET has the Oklahoma City Thunder as the betting favorite to win it all, especially after the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics’ second-round exits.
The Mark Daigneault-coached squad is priced at -180 odds, with the New York Knicks (+475), Minnesota Timberwolves (+650), and Indiana Pacers (+700) right behind them.
At the same time, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the favorite to win Finals MVP at -170. Jalen Brunson (+550), Anthony Edwards (+625), and Tyrese Haliburton (+900) behind him with the next-shortest odds.
