Oklahoma City Thunder Sign Intriguing Player
USA TODAY Sports

Vasilije Micić has been an outstanding player in the EuroLeague.

In 2021, he won the MVP, and he also won two titles (2021 and 2022).

The 29-year-old will now be joining the NBA, and on Monday, the Oklahoma City Thunder officially announced that they have signed him.

Via The Thunder : "The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed guard Vasilije Micić to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released."

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported details of his contract.

Via Scotto : "The Oklahoma City Thunder included a third-year team option in the three-year, $23.5 million deal with Vasilije Micic, league sources told  @hoopshype."

This past season, Micić averaged 16.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range in 31 EuroLeague games for Anadolu Efes.

Several recent NBA players have also won the EuroLeague MVP, including Luka Dončić, Nikola Mirotić, Miloš Teodosić, Andrei Kirilenko, Sergio Rodríguez, Anthony Parker and Nemanja Bjelica.

Micić will be a very intruding addition to the Thunder, who are already one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA.

This past season, the Thunder were the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 40-42 record.

They came into the year with zero expectations but were just one win away from making the 2023 NBA playoffs.

After defeating the New Orleans Pelicans in their first play-in tournament game, the Thunder lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
