The Indiana Pacers and coach Rick Carlisle have agreed to a multiyear contract extension, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Indiana, of course, is coming off a run to the Finals, where it lost in seven games to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Carlisle has coached the Pacers for four seasons in his second stint with the team. They have improved record-wise each year, finishing 50-32 last season. Along with reaching the NBA Finals for just the second time in franchise history in 2024-25, Carlisle and the Pacers advanced to the Eastern Conference finals a year before that.
Prior to joining the Pacers, he coached the Dallas Mavericks for 13 seasons, winning a championship in 2011.
Overall, Carlisle holds a 993-860 record in 23 seasons as a head coach.
