The Indiana Pacers forced Game 7 in a game that made it clear they would fight for the championship until the very end.

OKC vs. Pacers: Game 7 Pre-Game

Although Indiana’s starting point guard and offensive anchor was doubtful before the game, Tyrese Haliburton decided to risk it all and play in Game 6 of the Finals despite not having recovered 100% from his injury from the previous game. Haliburton showed that he’s one of those players with a championship pedigree, but perhaps the possibility crossed his mind that Game 6 could be his last chance to compete with his hunger to win.

OKC vs. Pacers: Game 6 Recap

The first quarter was evenly matched, with Indiana coach Rick Carlisle showing his experience as he prevented the Oklahoma team from escaping, allowing them to take the lead in the opening minutes of the game. From the second quarter onward, everything began to go Indiana’s way, with a defense that forced a total of 21 turnovers against Oklahoma. They quickly built a lead that reached 22 points by halftime.

Oklahoma tried to fight back, thanks to their star player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but the Thunder’s attacks couldn’t overcome the team’s strong defense and resilient attitude, as they were backed against the wall. Indiana overwhelmed Oklahoma, taking a 30-point lead by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was a formality, with both teams’ benches having opportunities to finish the game.
