The NBA announced its All-NBA teams on Friday, and while there were a few surprises, there were also plenty of players who made the cut with little or no argument.
The All-NBA First Team this year consists of Nikola Jokic, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo and newly minted league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Second Team has Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Jalen Brunson and Evan Mobley.
Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers was named to the All-NBA Third Team for the second year in a row. That makes him the fourth player in Pacers history, along with Reggie Miller, Jermaine O'Neal and Paul George to be named to more than one All-NBA team.
The Pacers organization responded on X with two words.
"elite company," the caption read.
Haliburton was named to the All-Star team in both of the last two seasons, but he didn't get voted in this season. Still, he has more than proven his worth thus far in the playoffs.
He led a spirited comeback in Game 5 of the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks, which included the game-winning layup. In the next round, he hit a cold-blooded 3-pointer to win Game 2 at the Cleveland Cavaliers and give Indiana a 2-0 series lead.
He has been at it again during the Eastern Conference finals versus the New York Knicks. He made a long jumper that bounced high off the rim and fell through the net to force overtime in Game 1, and the Pacers now lead that series 2-0 after taking the first two contests at Madison Square Garden.
With the series heading to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the next two games, they suddenly have a very good chance of getting to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.
