The first quarter of Game 7 of the NBA Finals could not have started worse for the Indiana Pacers. After Tyrese Haliburton started the game with nine points on three made threes, he suffered a leg injury.

Haliburton had to be helped off the court after suffering a gruesome injury. It looked like his Achilles popped in the same calf that he strained, but nothing has been confirmed.

The Pacers will now have to play the rest of the game without him.

Haliburton came into Game 7 with a calf strain. It was reported that if it were the regular season, he would miss at least a couple of weeks.

Haliburton toughed it out in Game 6 and was able to play pretty well. Unfortunately, it was a situation in which Haliburton was not able to tough this one out.The Pacers will likely have to be without Haliburton for most of next year, too.

He seemed to know that the injury was an Achilles injury as soon as he went down.T.J. McConnell will now have to take over most of the point guard duties for the rest of the game. He has been very effective in most of the games in this series.

The bench will also need to step up. They have had a few really good games, but they have to be even better with Haliburton now done.

The Pacers need to survive one more game without him. This is a horrible injury that brings back memories of what happened to Kevin Durant in 2019. He suffered a calf injury that turned into a ruptured Achilles in the NBA Finals.

Haliburton was aware of the risks before he decided to play in these games with that injury. He knew that this could potentially happen.Unfortunately, the Pacers’ best player will be gone for at least the next 9-12 months. No official word has been given at the time of this publication.

If the Pacers are able to win the game, it would be one of the best stories in the history of basketball. Winning the game for him would be an all-time great moment for the franchise.

The team might not be in this situation again, and Haliburton wouldn’t want them to worry about him too much while they are trying to win an NBA championship.
