Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' 40th birthday celebration this week became the talk of social media when a video of the NBA great rapping along to Kendrick Lamar's song went viral.

The clip, which was posted online by NFR Podcast , shows James enjoying the music at his party with notable guests, including his wife Savannah James, NBA star Draymond Green and business partner Maverick Carter.

James impressed viewers with his ability to rap the lyrics perfectly. Fans took to social media to express their surprise and amusement.

“This song is for people that put in the work to become the greatest,” one fan commented.

“Somebody tell him he is not him outside basketball court,” another joked.

“You know how good your song gotta be for LeBron to actually know the words to your song,” a fan added.

“He must got the lyrics taped to the other side of that laptop,” a commenter humorously suggested.

“Seeing LeBron rap every word to Kendrick proves he's still got that same energy he had in his 20s - age really is just a number for him,” a fan noted.

Despite his past close friendship with rapper Drake, who has had a public feud with Kendrick Lamar, James has clarified his stance on the issue, per Complex.

The ongoing dispute between the two rappers intensified with diss tracks, and many celebrities chose sides. However, James seemingly sided with Lamar, even attending one of his concerts.

As James turned 40, he remains a dominant force in the NBA, continuing to lead the Lakers in their pursuit of another championship.

James’ energy and passion for both basketball and music show no signs of fading. With the Lakers in seventh place in the Western Conference, LeBron James will look to guide his team through the season with his veteran experience and leadership.
