The Detroit Pistons managed to stay alive Tuesday night when they defeated the New York Knicks 106-103.
The Pistons appeared to have the game in hand, up 104-100, and Dennis Schroder was looking to make it a five-point game. However, Schroder missed the second of two free throws, leaving the door cracked open for New York.
Things got interesting when OG Anunoby hit a three-pointer with seven seconds remaining. Cade Cunningham couldn't have played better defense on the play.
Cunningham delivered with two clutch free throws to put the Pistons back up by three. J.B. Bickerstaff wasn't going to take any chances though, as he elected to foul Miles McBride to put him on the line.
While McBride is an 81% free-throw shooter, he was cold, as he hadn't attempted a free throw up to that point. He missed both free throws, but the Knicks were able to bat the ball back out to the perimeter.
However, no Knicks player was in the vicinity, and the Pistons took possession and the win on the road.
One media personality who has taken notice of the Pistons is Pat McAfee.
"The Pistons are a team I don't think anybody wants to play," McAfee said. "I don't think anybody wants to play the Pistons cause there's no way it's going to be a fun series. You're going to get beat down."

It's true. Both Game 4 and Game 5 were incredibly physical, with the referees often not interfering.
While Pistons fans who may feel Jalen Brunson has been getting the whistle may not agree, it's still a far cry from the typical refereeing we see in the regular season.
The Pistons will have a chance to even the series when they return to Little Caesars Arena for Game 6 on Thursday night.
