The GOAT debate took another crazy turn after Tim Hardaway claimed he’d take prime Dwyane Wade over prime LeBron James. The comment exploded across NBA social media, especially because Hardaway doubled down while defending his basketball résumé and Hall of Fame status.
Then came Patrick Beverley, who jumped right into the chaos. Beverley reshared the viral clip from Heat Central and called out fans for criticizing him in the past for controversial basketball takes while seemingly letting Hardaway slide. The former guard thought the NBA world needed to keep that same energy.
Hardaway’s comments came during a recent podcast appearance, where he argued Wade’s peak was stronger despite James’ unmatched longevity and overall career accomplishments.
“Give him that same treatment yal tried to give me. ole school done lost his damn marbles.”

The debate became even louder because Wade’s legendary 2008-09 season remains one of the greatest guard campaigns ever. Still, comparing anyone’s peak against James continues to divide the basketball world almost every single time it comes up.
Patrick Beverley wasn’t about to let DeAndre Ayton slide after the Los Angeles Lakers got bounced by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Beverley ripped Ayton over his viral “Dominayton” diamond chain while questioning his disappointing playoff production.
Ayton struggled badly against Oklahoma City, averaging just 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds after a solid first-round series versus Houston. Things got even louder online once the flashy chain video surfaced during the middle of the Lakers’ playoff collapse.
Beverley completely unloaded on his podcast, saying Ayton wasted a huge chance to become the Lakers’ second option. He also mocked the “Dominayton” nickname, arguing Ayton hasn’t played anywhere near the level needed to back up that kind of confidence.
