Back in January, a lucky Philadelphia 76ers fan won $10,000 by hitting a half-court shot during a game against the New York Knicks. Granted, the money was in cryptocurrency, but it was still a hefty payday nonetheless.

Months later, Paul George reflected on when he bumped into the fan, per the PHLY Sixers podcast.

“Initially, it was like no way he’s got a Paul George jersey on,” he said. “Sure enough, he had a Paul George jersey on.”

“To be able to share that moment with him was special. He made a hell of a shot.”

Meanwhile, the 76ers finished the regular season at 45-37, 7th in the Eastern Conference. George finished the season averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. On Sunday, Philadelphia defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 126-106.

George played 21 minutes and scored 11 points while grabbing five rebounds.

Lately, George has been battling a left knee injury. On Wednesday, the 76ers will play against the Orlando Magic in the NBA Eastern Conference Play-In tournament. If they win, they will be the 7th seed facing the 2nd seed, the Boston Celtics, in the first round.

However, if they lose, they will have to face the winner of the Miami Heat/Charlotte Hornets game to secure the 8th spot.

George will be one of the key players Philadelphia will rely upon, as well as Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid will be out after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

In July 2024, George signed a four-year, $212 million maximum contract with Philadelphia coming out of free agency.
