NBA legend Paul Pierce is dealing with a new legal issue after a paternity case became more serious. A woman who sued him earlier this year now wants the court to order him to pay nearly $30,000 every month in child support, according to TMZ.

The woman, Princess Santiago, works as an event coordinator in Los Angeles. She claims Pierce is the father of her son, King, and wants a DNA test to prove it. She also says she tried to settle things privately before filing the case.

Santiago is asking for full custody of the child. She also wants Pierce to pay $100,000 for legal fees and cover about $18,846 for pregnancy and birth expenses. On top of that, she is asking him to share all future costs related to the child.

Support Demand Tied To Pierce’s Wealth

Santiago based her request on Pierce’s career earnings. In court documents, she said the former Boston Celtics star made between $195 million and $203 million during his NBA career. She also mentioned his past comments about endorsements, claiming he earned enough from deals and did not rely on his NBA salary for everyday expenses.

“This isn’t about drama or attention – it’s about accountability and doing what’s right for my child,” Santiago said in an earlier statement.

Pierce has not responded publicly to the new filing. The case comes during a tough period for the 48-year-old.

Back in October, authorities charged him with driving under the influence after finding him asleep at the wheel during traffic on a California highway. Police said he showed signs of alcohol use. Later, Pierce spoke about it on social media. He said he felt “old” and “tired” and claimed he just fell asleep in heavy traffic.

Pierce built a Hall of Fame career and won an NBA title in 2008. He retired in 2017 and moved into media work. However, things have not gone smoothly. ESPN fired him in 2021 after a controversial livestream. He later joined Fox Sports 1, but two of his shows were eventually canceled.

Now, this legal case could bring more attention. The court will decide if Santiago’s claims are true and whether Pierce must take a DNA test. The result could affect both the financial outcome and his responsibilities going forward.
