Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers are off to a hot start this season.

Tyrese Maxey has been playing like an All-Star and the Philadelphia 76ers are a perfect 4-0.

The 76ers have gotten tremendous play from their young electrifying backcourt of Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe, who has been impressive with his explosiveness and athleticism.

If Joel Embiid can slowly return to form, the 76ers will be a team to watch out for in the Eastern Conference.

Paul Pierce says when he watched Tyrese Maxey in person he was ‘impossible to stop’

Maxey’s got everyone’s attention to start this season.

After making the All-Star team in 2024, Maxey was not selected for the 2025 NBA All-Star team. The biggest setback for Maxey last season was him having to deal with multiple injuries that limited him to just 52 games.

However, Maxey is off to a blistering start this season, he’s averaging the most points in the league at 37.5 points to go along with 8.3 assists on an incredible 47.4 percent shooting from three.

Paul Pierce talked about watching Maxey in person and he was very impressed with what he saw.

“I had a chance to watch him game one. When I saw this in person I was like ‘this guy’s impossible to stop’.

“It’s his step-back three, he’s so explosive to the hole and in transition you can’t stop him.

“Players like that he can have a bad shooting night and got 10-12 from the line, and make three threes and that’s already 20.”

Tyrese Maxey is playing at an MVP level

Maxey opened up the season with a 40-point performance on 54 percent shooting from the field against the Boston Celtics.

In the second game against the Charlotte Hornets he flashed scoring and playmaking, posting 28 points and 9 assists.

In the 76ers third game against the Orlando Magic, Maxey drained 46 percent of his shots to score 43 points to go along with 8 assists.

Then in game number four, the 76ers put together a double-digit comeback, which saw Maxey go for 39 points and 10 assists.

The 76ers are 4-0 to begin the year and are looking to make it 5-0 with another matchup against the Celtics coming up.
