Paul Pierce Sends Message After Celtics Loss Leads to Brutal Punishment

Although Paul Pierce played for four different NBA teams during his 19-year career, he will forever be associated with the Boston Celtics.

Pierce led the Celtics to the franchise's first NBA title in over 20 years in 2008, and has since turned into a superfan of the team who consistently rides with them no matter what. While his loyalty to the franchise that drafted him with the 10th pick in the 1998 NBA Draft has never wavered, he did learn a valuable lesson over the past couple days.

Following the Celtics' Game 1 loss to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals, Pierce vowed on FS1's "Speak," that he'd walk to work the next day in his robe. Unfortunately for him, the Celtics blew a 20-point lead, losing 91-90, and he made a 20.2-mile walk on Thursday.

While his commitment is admirable, Pierce expressed that he will no longer be making any more wagers like that one again.

"I'm never doing this again y'all," Pierce said. "I'm never putting no bet like this ever again."

As for the Celtics, losing two straight games at home to open a series is never ideal. However, the fact that they have blown 20-point leads in each game adds even more salt to the wound.

Fortunately, they will have a few days to head back to the drawing board and find a solution. Game 3 of the series is set for Saturday at Madison Square Garden in a game that will tip at 3:30 p.m. ET and air on ABC.
