New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram will need more than a few days to recover from the left low-ankle sprain he suffered during Tuesday's win over the Golden State Warriors.
On Wednesday, the Pelicans confirmed that Ingram will miss at least Friday's showdown at the Philadelphia 76ers due to the setback. The 23-year-old is considered day-to-day, and his status for Sunday's matchup at the Charlotte Hornets is unknown.
Per ESPN stats, Ingram is second on the Pelicans with 23.8 points and 4.9 assists per game, and he's third with a player efficiency rating of 19.21. He's also averaging 4.9 rebounds while shooting 46.6% from the field.
New Orleans headed into Wednesday's NBA action two games behind the San Antonio Spurs in the race for 10th place in the Western Conference standings and the final berth in the play-in tournament. New Orleans will play five consecutive road contests before finishing the regular season by hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on May 16.
The play-in tournament runs May 18-21.
