Philadelphia 76ers Announce Concerning Injury News

The Philadelphia 76ers' season is dissolving into a soap opera. Will Joel Embiid need surgery or not? If yes, why is he not getting it done as soon as possible? If not, why is he not playing?

Then, there is the entire Paul George situation. After massively underperforming so far this season, the veteran has decided that the time has come to pause his podcast and focus fully on his basketball duties.

One also has to wonder what kind of an effect a failed season, when the 76ers were expected to challenge for the Championship, will have on the future of Daryl Morey.

The biggest reason behind the Sixers' terrible season has been injuries. And now, they have another player missing for the foreseeable future.

The 76ers have announced that Eric Gordon underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right wrist yesterday and he will be re-evaluated in approximately three months.

Gordon was signed in the summer and the veteran was playing a decent role for the Sixers this season.

He was averaging 19.7 minutes per game and was one of the 76ers' most consistent three-point shooters, making 40.9% from beyond the arc.

So, his absence for at least the next three months is another blow for a team that has plenty to be worried about already.

There are many who feel that it is time for the Sixers to give up on this season, knowing it is headed absolutely nowhere.

A play-in spot is still a real possibility but even if they make it, it is hard to imagine that this team, the way they have played all season, will be able to make much of an impact in the post-season.
