Following the 2025 NBA All-Star break, the Philadelphia 76ers host the Boston Celtics. They are searching for true health after an injury-riddled season as they try to enter the playoffs, currently sitting at 11th in the East with a 20-34 record.

Unfortunately, the Sixers' injury report now includes a new name. Justin Edwards will be on the sidelines for the team's first game after the All-Star break, along with Eric Gordon, Jared McCain and Kyle Lowry.

Sixers rookie Edwards picked the injury up at practice on Tuesday and he looks set to miss at least two games.

Due to this, he's ruled out for Thursday's game against the Celtics and Saturday's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

According to Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia, a team official said that Edwards is set to be re-evaluated early next week.

Amid an unexpected season in which he has established himself as a dependable rotational player for the 76ers after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft.

As a Sixer, he has made 25 appearances and started 9 consecutive games. He has been averaging 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while playing 23.8 minutes.

Edward has demonstrated that he has much more than G-League potential, and he might play a meaningful role on the roster for the rest of the season.

Edwards' injury does not sound particularly serious and one would hope that he will be back available in the near future. He might not be one of the cornerstones of this team but he certainly has a part to play.
