The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off a miracle comeback Tuesday night in Game 6 of their first-round series versus the New York Knicks. The Sixers looked like they were drawing dead when they trailed New York by six points with only under 30 seconds remaining in regulation.
However, surrender is simply not in 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey’s vocabulary.
Maxey took over in the final 25 seconds of the fourth quarter, as he scored seven points to force overtime. His desperate 3-pointer from the logo after a free-throw miss by New York shooting guard Josh Hart tied the game at 97-97 with just 8.1 seconds remaining. The Knicks failed to come up with a bucket as time expired in the final period.
In overtime, Maxey and the 76ers took advantage of the opportunity and completed their comeback bid by outscoring the Knicks, 15-9, the rest of the way to take a 112-106 victory.
After the game, Maxey and Joel Embiid shared a moment, with the former telling the Sixers big man that he’s got everything under control.

Embiid scored just 19 points, but completed a triple-double with 16 rebounds and 10 assists, while Tobias Harris contributed 19 points and eight boards.
With Philly still alive and having just regained momentum,Maxey and the 76ers will look to force Game 7 when they travel back to the City of Brotherly Love for Game 6 this coming Thursday.
