DALLAS — The Phoenix Suns are riding a wave of momentum, and it matters not just for now, but as the team goes deeper into the regular season.
It’s not just about the hot streak, but how the team is managing to seal wins. The Suns toughed out a victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, Nov. 12, despite a late fourth-quarter surge. They kept pace and created opportunities from Dallas’ mistakes.
After a shaky start to the season and key injuries to several starters, the Suns are finding rhythm under new leadership and with new players. Phoenix is now 6-1 over its last seven games and holds a 5-1 record at home this season.
The Suns are also ranked fourth in three-point attempts, with 42.7 per game, emphasizing spacing in their offense. Their assist-to-turnover ratio has improved to 1.7 and they are forcing more mistakes from opponents. Even in down-to-the-wire wins, like against the Mavericks, the Suns look like a complete team on both sides of the ball.
The resurgence offers hope in the Valley. The team entered the season unpredictably, with uncertainty over what the rebuild would bring. So far, despite some struggles, the Suns are pulling through with gritty wins and star performances.
Phoenix wasn’t given much of a chance in the offseason to be contenders, but they are showing why they deserve attention. The team is looking to reclaim respect and prove it can still be a threat in the Western Conference and across the league.
It’s still early in the season to say this surge will last the entire year, but the rebuild is making noise. There are challenges to overcome and players who will eventually return.
For now, Phoenix is forcing outsiders to take notice and demonstrating its ability to shake things up.
