Phoenix Suns fans will have different ideas on how to win with their current roster after missing the chance to play postseason basketball. While the team has started taking steps in turning things around, its core of players is still a huge matter they must address.
The team is looking for ways to offload Bradley Beal’s massive contract, but it’s more likely they’re stuck with their poor decision to give him at least $50 million until the summer of 2027.
Meanwhile, Kevin Durant may also be offloaded in the coming summer. It became clear that the roster will take a while to become a contender in a cramped Western Conference, and time is not a luxury the Slim Reaper can provide.
With Durant enjoying his summer earlier than expected, he’s enjoying his time following the games and interacting with fans who love saying stuff about him.
Durant was minding his business when a random fan tagged him on social media about a post of former teammate Kyrie Irving dissecting defenses as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The fan was mad at Durant for ruining what was supposed to be a dynastic run for the Cavs when LeBron James returned in 2014.
In classic KD fashion, the seven-foot forward fired back with a line with the kind of sarcasm that only he could come up with.
“I rejoice every morning it didn’t happen,” Durant said of his three-year stint with the Golden State Warriors.
Durant was a phenomenal player for the Warriors while he was donning the Warriors jersey. While his numbers dipped in production due to playing alongside another great scorer in Stephen Curry, he managed to take down the Cavaliers and win two titles with the Dubs.
While he eventually teamed up with Kyrie in Brooklyn, his ventures to cement his legacy by winning on his own have been a struggle for him. Even his current stint with the Phoenix Suns proves that winning a title takes more than just being one of the best scorers in league history.
