Phoenix Suns’ Plan For Devin Booker Revealed

The Phoenix Suns have had a terrible season thus far and it is likely that they are going to make some major changes to their roster in the offseason.

Of course, the Suns were expected to be near the top of the Western Conference standings this season due to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, along with having the highest payroll in the NBA.

Instead, the Suns have seen their playoff hopes slowly vanish as the regular season in nearing an end. Phoenix currently sits 11th in the Western Conference standings with a 28-33 record, which has them four and a half games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final Play-In spot.

Because of this, the Suns are in danger of missing the playoffs, which would be a major blow to the organization. It is clear that the Suns need a roster makeover in the offseason, and that is exactly what many believe will end up happening.

If the Suns do decide to shake up their roster in the summer, it appears that they will focus on one of their stars to build around.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Suns plan to retool their roster around Booker in the offseason unless they can make a deep playoff run with their current core.

Because of this, it is likely that the Suns will move on from Durant in the offseason and will also look to move Beal, although that will be easier said than done due to his no-trade clause.

Of course, the Suns already tried to trade away Beal this season ahead of the deadline, but they were unable to find a trade suitor for him. Phoenix also listened to offers for Durant before he vetoed a potential trade to the Golden State Warriors due to him not wanting to be part of a midseason trade.

With the team already trying to move both players, it is now expected that they will look to trade them again in the offseason and rebuild around Booker for the future.
