Pistons' Ausar Thompson, Isaiah Stewart out for season
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Pistons rookie forward Ausar Thompson will miss the remainder of the season while being treated for a blood clot, the team announced Wednesday.

The bad news didn't end there for the Pistons, who announced center Isaiah Stewart will sit out the rest of the season due to a right hamstring strain. Stewart sustained the injury during the third quarter of Detroit's 119-94 loss to the host Boston Celtics on Monday.

Per the Pistons, Thompson has been cleared to resume conditioning and will begin non-contact basketball activities at the conclusion of the regular season. He is expected to be ready to return prior to next season.

Thompson, 21, averaged 8.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 63 games (38 starts) this season after being selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.

Stewart, 22, averaged 10.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 46 games (45 starts) this season.
