The Detroit Pistons are coming off one of the better years in recent franchise history.
After finishing in last place in the Eastern Conference, the Pistons improved by a massive 30 wins and clinched the No. 6 seed in the NBA Playoffs.
While they eventually lost to the New York Knicks in six games, it marked the first time they had won a playoff game since 2008.
The Pistons will have to have a busy offseason if they don't want this past season to be a flash in the pan.
Instead, they'll want to make adequate moves that ensure they return to the postseason, and that will likely start with the NBA Draft.
While the draft features many unknowns, it's also a great chance for teams to find a gem.
In a recent mock draft from Kyle Boone of CBS Sports, he projects that the Pistons will take Marquette guard Kam Jones.
"Detroit should continue to be adding shooting and playmaking around Cade Cunningham -- both of which are boxes Jones could help tick off," wrote Boone. "His efficiency last season dipped off but he has tools to be a complementary piece with his playmaking and ability to make shots; Synergy rated him in the 79th percentile last season in catch-and-shoot scenarios when unguarded."
Cunningham took a significant step forward with his development this season and was even named as a finalist for the NBA's Most Improved Player award.
They'll have some holes to fill left by outgoing free agents, but the core of Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren will likely remain solid going into next season.
