Pistons put together first three-game win streak in three years

The Detroit Pistons are, for the first time in a long time, on a hot streak.

With a 113-110 overtime victory against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, the Pistons are on a three-game win streak for the first time since March 2019. Additionally, Detroit has now won six of its last eight.

Even more encouraging for the Pistons over their abrupt winning streak is the emergence of a few young players, including the top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham. The 20-year-old point guard scored 28 points Monday night with 10 assists and six rebounds. Over the last eight games, Cunningham has averaged 21.4 points.

The Pistons finished 20-46 in 2020 and 20-52 in 2021. The team won back-to-back games five times over those two seasons, but never managed to extend a winning streak to three.

Up next for the Pistons is a home game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
