The Pistons have made big man Isaiah Stewart available in trade discussions, league sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

A key reserve for the 60-win club in 2025/26, Stewart averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 22.7 minutes per game across 58 appearances (13 starts). The 25-year-old held opponents to 43.8% shooting at the rim, easily the best mark in the NBA among the players who appeared in at least 50 games and faced four or more attempts per game. He finished seventh in Sixth Man of the Year voting.

However, Amick suggests that the Pistons appear prepared to lean more on big man Paul Reed in an increased role behind starting center Jalen Duren next season. Reed was more effective than Stewart in the last five games of the team’s second-round playoff series against Cleveland this spring, averaging 11.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per night while Stewart saw his playing time dip to 7.4 MPG and averaged just 3.8 PPG and 1.6 RPG.

Stewart will earn a guaranteed $15MM salary in 2026/27, with his team holding a $15MM option for ’27/28. He’ll be extension-eligible this offseason.

The Pistons are in the market for additional shooting and play-making this summer, and Stewart is one of a handful of players on mid-sized expiring or pseudo-expiring contracts who are candidates to be included in a trade addressing one or both of those needs. As we detailed earlier today, Caris LeVert ($14.8MM), Ron Holland ($9.1MM), and Marcus Sasser ($5.2MM) also fit that bill.

Confirming previous reports, Amick says that Lakers guard Austin Reaves, who is expected to become an unrestricted free agent, and Thunder wing Isaiah Joe are among the players on the Pistons’ radar.
