The Portland Trail Blazers have blown out the Brooklyn Nets for the second time this season, as they notched a 134-99 home win against them on Monday night, where Toumani Camara set new career-highs in points and three-pointers made.

The 25-year-old swingman had 35 points (game-high), three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and nine three-pointers on 10-for-12 shooting from the field in 28 minutes for the Portland Trail Blazers.

“I caught a rhythm pretty early,” Camara told The Oregonian’s Ryan Clarke. “My first one was a bank shot, but just the confidence, really, trusting my work. There’s ups and downs in this league, and you just gotta keep being who you are, and trust in the process. I feel like that’s the biggest thing for me right now.”

“I wanted to hit one of them Dame Lillard, logo threes,” he continued. “I spent a lot of time with him this summer, too, so he knows what I’m capable of…  He has a lot of trust in me, and is somebody that I can look up to.”

Portland Trail Blazers News: Tiago Splitter reacts to Toumani Camara’s career night vs. Brooklyn Nets

Portland Trail Blazers acting head coach Tiago Splitter praised Toumani Camara for setting the tone in the victory during his postgame interview.

“(Camara’s) been up and down lately, missing a couple of shots, but tonight he found it, and he was hot,” Splitter said of Camara. “It was good to see, hopefully push his confidence up. And he’s a great player, does so many things defensively for us, and just to see him there scoring the basket and being effective on offense and feeling good about himself was great.”

“I love that he has the confidence to keep shooting and be aggressive. Again, the most spectacular thing he does is not what he does on offense; it is on defense. He always guards the best guy on the other team. Always bring the energy, always leading his teammates,” he added.
