Prosecutors reach decision in Joshua Primo investigation
Joshua Primo Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

Joshua Primo is officially in the clear, both from an NBA standpoint and from a criminal investigation standpoint.

In a statement Friday, the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s office announced that it will not file charges against the L.A. Clippers guard Primo. Bexar County officials were looking into the allegations against Primo, who was accused of exposing himself to an individual five different times over the course of several months. It was ultimately decided, however, that the available evidence did not support the filing of any charges against the 20-year-old Primo.

“More than one prosecutor reviewed the evidence on each charge in this case,” Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales said in the release. “Each determined that there was simply not enough evidence to prove the required elements of the charge and meet a prosecutor’s statutory obligation.”

Primo, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, was accused of exposing himself to a former San Antonio Spurs team psychologist during his time on the Spurs. The psychologist went on to file a lawsuit against the Spurs for their alleged failure to act (read the details here), but that lawsuit has since been settled.

On Primo’s end, he was waived by the Spurs around the time the allegations went public. The NBA opened an independent investigation into the Primo accusations and ended up giving him a relatively short suspension.

Primo then went on to sign with the Clippers in September and has since served his suspension in its entirety. While Primo still has yet to appear in a single game for the Clippers, he has been present on their bench lately and recently got a notable promotion from the team. Now Primo is clear of the potential for any criminal charges as well.
