Quentin Grimes Instantly Loses It After Paul George’s Ridiculous Final Shot Attempt With Game on Line

After a blowout loss in Game 1, the Philadelphia 76ers stepped onto Madison Square Garden, hoping to even the series. But the outcome was all too familiar. As the clock ticked down in the final minute, Paul George had a golden opportunity to shift the tide, but a crucial mistake dashed those hopes.

With just 30 seconds remaining, the New York Knicks held a tight five-point lead. George found himself beyond the arc with two defenders in front. In a split second, the 36-year-old launched a three-pointer, only to watch in dismay as it sailed wildly off-target—an airball.

Now, the question emerges: could they have found a better option? Quentin Grimes, sprinting into a more open lane, certainly believed so. In the aftermath of George’s errant shot, Grimes didn’t hold back.

Grimes quickly confronted George about the risk he took, despite still having time to consider a different play. A video that recently surfaced captured their heated exchange, a moment of frustration that, fortunately, didn’t escalate further.

Paul George Reacts To The 76ers’ Late-Game Offensive Struggles

Star player Joel Embiid missed Game 2 due to a right ankle sprain and right hip soreness. In his absence, George scored only 19 points, along with four assists and six rebounds in 43 minutes of play. Additionally, the team struggled offensively in the fourth quarter, which contributed to their 102-108 loss. During the post-game interview, George discussed the team’s difficulties in the final quarter

“I thought we just might’ve ran out of gas a little bit in the fourth. We could’ve did a better job of getting some easier ones, but I think we did just run out of gas a little bit in the fourth.” George said.

The 76ers are currently 0-2 in the conference semifinals series against the Knicks. They will play Game 3 of the series at 7 PM EDT on 8th May at the Wells Fargo Center.
