The Toronto Raptors will once again open the season at Scotiabank Arena this year with an Oct. 25 tipoff against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The league announced its 80-game schedule Thursday afternoon, two games shy of the traditional 82-game mark due to the new in-season tournament that will add two more games for each team at a later date.

Toronto's noteworthy games include the annual Giants of Africa Game, celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela, scheduled for Dec. 1 against the New York Knicks. Former head coach Nick Nurse will make his return on Oct. 28. The NBA champion Denver Nuggets will play in Toronto on Dec. 20. No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama will make his Toronto debut on Feb. 12. Finally, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will play at Scotiabank Arena on Apr. 2.

The longest home stand of the season is five games from Feb. 9-22 which stretches over the All-Star break. The longest road swings are six games each which will take place from Jan. 3 to Jan. 12  and again between Jan. 28 and Feb. 7.

The Raptors will play in 14 back-to-back games this season including three that will involve no travel.

The lone nationally televised game in the United States will come on Jan. 18 in a play-in game rematch against DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls.

The Canadian TV and radio schedules will be announced at a later date.
