Raptors All-Star PG Fred VanVleet doubtful for Game 6 vs. Sixers

If the Toronto Raptors are to stave off elimination for the third straight time in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, they'll likely have to do it without All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet.

After dropping the first three games of the best-of-seven set to Philadelphia, Toronto won at home last Saturday, 110-102. The victory came at a cost though, with VanVleet exiting early with his hip injury.

The former Wichita State Shocker was subsequently ruled out for Game 5 on Monday, which the Raptors won, 103-88.

VanVleet averaged 13.8 points, 6.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 35.0 minutes through the first four games of the series. He posted career highs in points (20.3), assists (6.7), rebounds (4.4) and minutes (37.9) per game this past season while starting a career-high 65 contests.

The survivor of the Philadelphia-Toronto series will take on the top-seeded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Heat eliminated the Atlanta Hawks in five games, winning the clinching game on Tuesday.
