Raptors don't trade Kyle Lowry before deadline

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone but Kyle Lowry remains with the Raptors, as Toronto either chose to keep the veteran point guard or simply could not find a suitable deal for him.

Lowry was one of the biggest names people were watching at the trade deadline, as the Raptors were considering trading him to a contender in order to allow him to continue to compete in the postseason, as Toronto has been among the most disappointing teams this season.

However, Lowry will now remain with the Raptors and could even be headed towards an extension, as it was previously indicated that he will sign a long-term deal with whatever team he was with after the deadline. Lowry has spent nearly a decade with the Raptors, establishing himself as one of the best and most beloved players in the franchise's history, even helping Toronto win its first-ever championship in 2019.

Lowry was linked to the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat, with the Los Angeles Lakers emerging as a surprise possible trade partner with Toronto. But instead of trading Lowry, the team ended up trading Norman Powell to the Trail Blazers in exchange for Gary Trent and Rodney Hood.
