The Toronto Raptors are on the road on Thursday night as they travel to face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in an interconference showdown.

For the Raptors, they have been one of the surprise teams in the NBA this season as they currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 35-26 record.

Of course, Toronto missed the playoffs last season but they have turned things around this year behind their core led by Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.

Now the Raptors will try to grab another victory on the road on Thursday as they look to bounce back after losing at home to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.

Despite this, Toronto may be without one of their key players in Thursday’s game in Minneapolis as they announced an unfortunate injury update on Wednesday.

Ahead of Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves, the Raptors announced that Ingram is questionable due to a left thumb sprain.

Ingram suffered the injury late in Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks, though he was able to play through it and there is hope that he will be able to suit up on Thursday, especially with the injury being on his non-shooting hand.

Of course, Ingram has played a key role in first full season with the Raptors after they acquired him from the New Orleans Pelicans last season.

This season, the 28-year-old forward is averaging 22.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 47.4% from the field and 37.4% from three.

While there is hope that Ingram will be able to play against the Timberwolves, the Raptors may elect to sit him on Thursday, especially with them already dealing with a similar issue with rookie Collin Murray-Boyles who missed time earlier this season with a thumb sprain that he is currently sidelined with after reaggravating the injury.

If Ingram is sidelined, it would be his first missed game since January 11 and Ja’Kobe Walter could fill in for him in the starting lineup and have an increased role.

Either way, Toronto will try to pick up a key victory on the road on Thursday night as they try to fight for a top seed in the East before the end of the regular season.
