Jakob Poeltl's return will have to wait a few more days.
The Toronto Raptors have ruled out the 28-year-old center who had been listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. It'll be the 11th straight game Poeltl has missed with a left ankle sprain he suffered on January 7.
Poeltl has been trending toward a return and is now just working on his conditioning as he tries to get back on the court for the Raptors. He's been doing on-court activities and shouldn't be out for too much longer.
Immanuel Quickley has been downgraded from doubtful to out with a right thigh contusion. He'll miss his third straight game with the injury but he too isn't expected to be out long-term.
RJ Barrett remains out as well with left knee swelling. It's the second straight game Toronto has played without the 23-year-old Canadian forward.
Expect Toronto to start Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., Dennis Schröder, Bruce Brown, and Thad Young for the second straight game. Jontay Porter, Jordan Nwora, and Gradey Dick should all see significant time off the bench for Toronto after the trio looked stellar on Sunday night against the Atlanta Hawks.
Porter, in particular, will have to contend with Chicago's supersized bigs Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond who may give Toronto's undersized frontcourt trouble Tuesday night.
Kira Lewis Jr., Javon Freeman-Liberty, and Markquis Nowell all remain on G League assignment for Toronto.
The Bulls, meanwhile, will be without Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams, Torrey Craig, and Lonzo Ball.
