The Toronto Raptors are filling their two-way contract spot with a Canadian talent.

The Raptors have agreed to a deal with A.J. Lawson, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto:

Lawson is a Toronto native and has 57 NBA games under his belt playing with the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves. He is averaging 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in only 7.4 minutes per game in his NBA career.

This season, the 24-year-old has played in 11 games with the Long Island Nets and has averaged 24.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

Lawson put on a show against the Raptors 905 in their home opener, putting up 37 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals leading the Nets to a win.

The Raptors opened a two-way spot on their roster after waiving guard DJ Carton on Dec. 10.

Lawson has good length and has a strong ability to get to the basket. He will join RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher, Quincy Guerrier and Eugene Omoruyi as the only Canadians in the Raptors organization.
