The Toronto Raptors will receive the 39th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

There was a tiebreaker that took place between the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers, which was won by the Suns. This means the Raptors who own the Blazers second-round pick will get the 39th pick in this year’s NBA Draft.

The Raptors acquired the pick from the Sacramento Kings last offseason in the deal that brought in Davion Mitchell, the rights to Jamal Shead, and Portland’s 2025 second-round pick in exchange for salary cap flexibility. The trade allowed the Kings to complete a sign-and-trade for DeMar DeRozan with the Chicago Bulls.

The 39th pick ended up being very important in last year’s draft. The Memphis Grizzlies were able to take Jaylen Wells.

The Raptors do not own their own second-round pick, which is No. 37. It’s on its way to the Detroit Pistons via the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks after it was included in Toronto’s deal for Jakob Poeltl with the Spurs.

The Raptors are still waiting to see what their first-round pick will be. The draft lottery order has yet to be determined. The Raptors have a 7.5 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick and a 31.9 percent chance of moving into the top-4. The most likely outcome for Toronto is them getting the the No. 8 pick, which Toronto they have a 34.1 percent chance of doing so.

The NBA Draft Lottery will take place on May 12 in Chicago.
