Recent Kevin Durant Report Brings Trade Prediction Amid Suns Rumors

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, following three seasons with the club, is set to be traded this offseason.

The organization was set to trade Durant at the deadline with no warning to the all-time forward, though they didn't pull the trigger on any deal.

With this in mind, Phoenix is set to move on from the future Hall of Fame forward after a gradual decline with their current squad.

The Suns will aim to retool around Devin Booker, but a roster shakeup is more than needed after a 36-46 finish, and Durant will have to go, given Bradley Beal's contract situation.

Where Durant will be traded is quite unique, though. The 36-year-old forward doesn't have the trade value to help the Suns return an immense amount of value.

The 15-time All-Star will also have a preference as to where he lands in a trade.

The Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs are two teams linked to the possibility of landing Durant, along with the Minnesota Timberwolves and others.

According to John Gambadoro, a notable Suns insider, Durant and someone close to him had a conversation about the Spurs, which is why Gambadoro linked the two sides in a trade conversation.

The idea of letting Durant remain in a high-efficiency role around Victor Wembanyama -- a generational talent -- is quite an absurd scenario, though it seems like a strong possibility.

In this situation, one would assume the Suns aim to land young talent to add around Booker while also getting draft capital to open up roster flexibility.

Durant and Wembanayama would then immediately be among the most intriguing duos in the entire NBA.

While this is a report, and not straight from Durant, it's interesting that he has had conversations as to where he might be traded this offseason.

The Suns will continue to speak to multiple teams before the NBA Draft to try and net the best return for themselves and their future, as the event is the rumored target date for Phoenix to strike a deal.
