Recent NBA 6th Overall Pick Is Still A Free Agent
USA TODAY Sports

Jarrett Culver is coming off a year where he appeared in ten regular season games for the Atlanta Hawks

The 24-year-old averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.5% from the field.

Culver still remains a free agent (on August 27) and is available to be signed by any team in the league.

In addition to his time with the Hawks last year, he also played in the G League and had averages of 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field in 23 regular season games (he also appeared in six Showcase Cup games and five G League playoff games).

Culver was initially the sixth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft after a fantastic college career with Texas Tech.

He spent the first two seasons of his pro-career with the Minnesota Timberwolves and has also played one year for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Over 144 regular season games, Culver has career averages of 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 40.1% from the field and 27.6% from the three-point range (he has also appeared in three NBA playoff games).

Since Culver is still so young (and a recent top-ten pick), he could be a good addition to many teams.

At this point, he would likely be able to be signed for a minimum deal, so there would be no financial risk to bring Culver in for training camp.

A rebuilding team that is developing young talent would make a lot of sense.
