Recent NBA 6th Overall Pick Is Still A Free Agent
USA TODAY Sports

The 2023-24 NBA season is nearly halfway over, but there are still plenty of good free agents that are available to be signed.

One player who remains unsigned is Jarrett Culver.

The 24-year-old is currently playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets).

In 16 Showcase Cup games, he averaged 20.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 51.6% from the field.

Meanwhile, he is currently averaging 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 40.3% from the field in eight regular season games.

Culver was the sixth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft after playing two seasons of college basketball for Texas Tech.

Considering he is such a recent top-ten pick, it's surprising that no one has signed him.

Over four seasons in the NBA, Culver has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks.

His career averages are 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 40.1% from the field and 27.6% from the three-point range in 144 regular season games (he has also appeared in three NBA playoff games).

Culver most recently played in ten games (one start) for the Hawks last season.

In 13.7 minutes of playing time, he averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.5% from the field.

He should be a name to keep an eye on as a player who could possibly sign a ten-day contract (or a non-guaranteed deal).
