Recent Phoenix Suns Stat Delivers Brutal Reality to Unfortunate Season

This season has been a major disappointment so far for the Phoenix Suns, and it looks as though it could become worse.

Phoenix entered the season as a team that was expected to compete near the top of the Western Conference standings due to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, along with one of the NBA’s largest payrolls. Instead, they currently find themselves fighting for their playoff lives with less than half the season to go.

The Suns currently sit 11th in the West standings with a 26-29 record. They are currently two games behind the Golden State Warriors for the final Play-In spot in the West and have also lost their last four games.

With the Suns struggling, a recent statistic shows just how bad their season has been thus far.

According to SportsLine, the Suns have just a 1.3% chance of making the playoffs. This is an incredibly low number for a team led by a trio of superstar players and also one that has one of the highest payrolls in the NBA.

This statistic also shows just how terrible of a season the Suns have had and also predicts that their season could become worse despite them being just two games out of a Play-In spot. Of course, even if the Suns were somehow able to make the final Play-In spot, it is unlikely that they would be able to make a deep run in the playoffs, assuming that they could even make it out of their first Play-In game.

With this being the case, Phoenix may decide to make some major moves to their roster in the offseason, and it almost already happened this season. Ahead of the trade deadline, the Suns were looking to trade Beal and they were also listening to offers for Durant.

While Phoenix elected to keep both players through the end of the season, a complete roster makeover may be ahead in the offseason for the Suns, especially if they are unable to turn their season around.
