Report: 2020 NBA Draft will occur on October 16

2020 NBA Draft prospects will have to wait a little longer to learn their fate.

The 2020 NBA Draft will reportedly take place on Oct. 16, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Early-entry candidates will have until Aug. 17 to decide whether they want to remain eligible for this year's draft, Wojnarowski adds.

The league announced earlier this month that the draft lottery will take place on Aug. 25. The draft was originally scheduled to take place on June 25 but was postponed by league officials due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Georgia Bulldogs guard Anthony Edwards has the best chance to be selected first overall with LaMelo Ball potentially being picked second.

While draft positions have yet to be determined, the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have the best odds to land the first overall pick in this year's draft.

In their latest mock draft, CBS Sports has Edwards being picked first by the Warriors to complement Stephen Curry and the Cavaliers taking Ball, stating that he's a "tier above" Collin Sexton and Darius Garland.
