Report: Anthony Davis could return to Lakers in 10-14 days

The Los Angeles Lakers have dropped to fifth in the Western Conference without Anthony Davis and LeBron James. However, it appears both players could return very soon.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis could return to play in 10-14 days and James could be right behind him.

Davis has been out since Feb. 14 with a calf strain and Achilles tendinosis. He'll be re-examined on Thursday when the Lakers return from their East Coast road trip, Wojnarowski adds.

James, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain, is on track to return in three weeks.

Davis was having a solid season before being ruled out. In 23 games, he averaged 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and three assists per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field and 29.3% from deep.

James was also playing well and was considered a favorite to win the MVP award. The 36-year-old averaged 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game while shooting 51.3% from the field and 36.8% from deep in 41 contests.

L.A. is 12-13 since Davis was ruled out, dropping from second in the Western Conference to fifth. The Lakers are seven games back of the first-place Utah Jazz.
