Former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan is drawing a lot of interest from various teams around the NBA that are in need of new coaches.
Donovan interviewed for the head coaching position with the Indiana Pacers last week and is expected to meet with the Philadelphia 76ers in the next round of interviews for their open coaching position, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. Mike D'Antoni and Tyronn Lue also are expected to interview with the Sixers, Charania adds.
The Thunder parted ways with Donovan recently after five seasons. He helped Oklahoma City to a playoff berth this season, which was unexpected after the club traded Paul George and Russell Westbrook during the offseason.
Donovan was voted the NBA Coaches Association Co-Coach of the Year and finished third in this year's NBA Coach of the Year voting behind Mike Budenholzer and Nick Nurse.
Before coaching in the NBA, Donovan led Florida to two national titles. In his tenure with the Thunder, he racked up a 243-157 record and reached the playoffs in each of his five seasons.
