Report: Bronny James to work out with Western Conference contender
Bronny James. David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

There is a lot of skepticism surrounding Bronny James as an NBA prospect, but that is not stopping the 19-year-old from generating interest leading up to the draft.

James is scheduled to work out with the Phoenix Suns ahead of the NBA Draft, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. He has been invited to workouts with more than 10 teams but is only planning to visit a few.

The Suns have the 22nd overall pick in the draft. Many analysts do not expect James to be drafted at all, let alone midway through the first round. Some of the teams that pursue him will probably only do so in an attempt to give themselves a shot at signing LeBron James, who has a player option in his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for next season.

Phoenix already has three star players in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, but there has been talk about it making a big trade this summer.

Bronny has now been linked to a few different Western Conference teams. The Lakers are still viewed as the most likely suitor for him, though it is possible LeBron is not planning to push all that hard to make that happen.
