Report: Bucks likely to revisit Giannis trade talks with Cavs this summer

It appears the idea is not going away.

After the Cavaliers checked in on Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of the trade deadline, there is now more chatter that Milwaukee could revisit those talks this summer.

According to longtime NBA reporter Gery Woelfel, people around the league believe the Bucks could ultimately deal Antetokounmpo to Cleveland, with Evan Mobley viewed as the centerpiece coming back.

It is important to note this is not a confirmed negotiation or active discussion. But it does line up with what has already been reported.

As noted previously by The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer, the Cavs contacted Milwaukee before the deadline and were told it would take Mobley and all available draft capital to get a deal done.

That was a non-starter at the time. Whether that changes is the question.

Mobley remains a foundational piece for Cleveland, and moving him would represent a major philosophical shift. But if the Cavs fall short again in the playoffs, pressure to explore bigger swings could grow.

From Milwaukee’s side, any Giannis deal would require a franchise-altering return. Mobley fits that mold.

Nevertheless, this remains little more than chatter. But it is the kind of chatter that tends to stick around.
