Report: Celtics, Knicks interested in signing Carmelo Anthony

With the 2022-2023 NBA season right around the corner, 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony is still searching for a home.

After spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony may be switching coasts.

According to Bally's Sports Brandon Robinson, the Boston Celtics have emerged as a possible suitor for Anthony. The Celtics' interest, per Robinson, comes after Danilo Gallinari suffered a knee injury over the weekend.

Gallinari tore his left meniscus playing for Italy in the FIBA World Cup qualifying games, creating a hole in Boston's lineup. With Gallinari reportedly out until at least November, the door could be open for Anthony to find a role.

Robinson also confirmed the New York Knicks are interested in potentially bringing back Anthony for another run in the Big Apple. Anthony spent parts of seven seasons with the Knicks from 2010-11 to 2016-2017, making the All-Star team every year.

Another one of Anthony's former teams could also have him on their radar. Sam Amico of Hoops Wire reports that Anthony could reunite with the Denver Nuggets.

The 38-year-old averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over 69 regular-season games for the Lakers last season.
