Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo Open Minded On Other NBA Options

The NBA Draft Combine is taking place in Chicago and all 30 NBA teams could be focused on Giannis Antetokounmpo. The conversations will also be about Antetokounmpo and his future in Milwaukee. The two-time NBA MVP has started to think about his best chance to win more NBA Titles and after a first round exit for the third straight season he is wondering if the Bucks is the right place still.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Best Options

When ESPN’s Sham Charania broke the news about Antetokounmpo’s being open-minded on his NBA future it sent speculation into overdrive. There have always been teams that approached the Bucks over the availability of Antetokounmpo as a normal exercise. This off-season teams will rather ramp up their due diligence on the availability of the superstar during combine week, according to league sources.

When the conversation takes place it will be surrounded by where he believes his long-term future lies and if there is a franchise besides Milwaukee that is sensible for him.
Antetokounmpo is 30 years old and coming off a season were he averaged 30.4 points and 11.9 rebounds – he should be able to help the Bucks reload with trade aqustions.

The question is which NBA Franchise will have the trade assests to even able to bring the star to their team. There is also the possibility of  the team that wins the NBA Draft Lottery trading Cooper Flagg away, who is considered the number one overall prospect in the NBA Draft. When a team does decide they want to go for it they will have to make them selves believe they can win it all now with this move.

If there was one team I would want to see try and make it happen is the San Antino Spurs. Just imagine Victor Wembanyama and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the same team it would defanility make them a contender over night. The Spurs ended the 2024-2025 NBA season with a 34-48 record that was good for fourth in the Southwest Division. This is just a what if as is is all the rest of the possibilities there are.

Final Thoughts

My final thought is, will the 2025 NBA offseason be known as the summer of Giannis Antetokounmpo? Only time will tell what Antetokounmpo will do as both sides will work together to decide the best way for both parties to go. Antetokounmpo will meet with the Bucks next month, and I’m sure all 29 teams will line up trade packages if the 2021 NBA MVP is made available.
